HIGHLY QUALIFIED: All 2011-2012 teachers for Three Way ISD meet the Highly Qualified standards as required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
In 1947, the community schools of Chalk Mountain, Johnsville, and Pony Creek consolidated to form Three Way ISD. In the beginning, students in grades 1 through 6 were combined into 2 classrooms. The original 2 room school building now serves as the library and offices. As the enrollment rose and funding permitted, existing facilities were supplemented with portable buildings, a gymnasium, cafetorium, and "indoor plumbing" over the years.
In recent years, the span of grades served, the number of students served, and the number of educational programs offered has also grown. TWISD now offers PK through eighth grades, band, art, basketball, and distance learning opportunities in addition to core curriculum areas. Our goal is to serve the needs of the entire child through participation in academic, athletic, and cultural opportunities. With this strong foundation, TWISD students are able to transition more smoothly into area high schools upon completion of the eighth grade.
