Dr. Teddy Ott, Superintendent

Dr. Teddy Ott, Superintendent

Superintendent Dr. Teddy Ott combines decades of leadership experience with a passion for excellence,
innovation, and student achievement across Three Way ISD.

My name is Teddy Ott, though most people in education know me as Dr. Ott. I was born and raised in Thomasville, Alabama, and moved to Waco, Texas, at age 15, where I graduated from Waco Midway High School.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Liberty University, a Master of Education in Administration and Educational Leadership from Lamar University, and a Ph.D. in Church Growth and Leadership from Newburgh Theological Seminary. I am certified in EC–12 Special Education, 4–8 Generalist, EC–12 Principal, and EC–12 Superintendent.

I began my career in education in 2005 after spending 15 years in upper management within the automotive industry. Over the years, I have served as an 8th-grade math teacher, special education teacher, coach, special education coordinator, director of special education, director of special populations, MTSS director, assistant middle school principal, EC–12 principal, and associate superintendent.

Outside of education, I have also served as a pastor for 25 years, published six books (with two more in progress), and operated my own Allstate Agency.

My wife, Kelly, and I have been married for nearly 33 years. We have two children and six grandchildren. Kelly has worked in education for over 19 years, and this is the first time in my 15-year career in education that she hasn’t been working alongside me.

As both a person and a leader, I am committed to pursuing excellence in everything I do. I believe excellence is achieved through dedication, consistency, and the right systems of support. This is my ongoing commitment to the students, staff, and families of Three Way ISD.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, verily, do it with all your might.

Philippians 1:9-10 And this I pray, that your love may abound (i.e., excel) still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
