Stop by to meet our Pre-K teacher and get a glimpse of what a typical day looks like for our littlest Braves! This is a great opportunity to put a face to the name, ask questions, and learn about daily routines, expectations, and how we help students adjust to the school environment. We know starting school can feel like a big step - for both students and parents - and we’re here to help make that transition as smooth and reassuring as possible.
Pre-K enrollment is based on state eligibility requirements. See the criteria below to determine if your child qualifies for enrollment in our Pre-K program:
- Students who will be 3 years old before September 1st may qualify to start Pre-K 3.
- Students who will be 4 years old before September 1st may qualify to start Pre-K4.
To be eligible for enrollment students must meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:
- unable to speak and comprehend the English language
- is educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the national school lunch program)
- is homeless, as defined by 42 USC, §11434a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child
- is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority
- is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
- is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Family Code §262.201 or has been in foster care in another state or territory, but currently lives in Texas
- is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award
In addition, all new incoming Pre-K students must bring a copy of their social security card, birth certificate, and shot records, fill out a home language survey, as well as submit the documents listed above for in district or transfer students as applicable.
Students who are not eligible for enrollment may turn in their application documents and may be approved based on availability. If approved you will receive an online registration form via email at a later date. A computer and district staff member can be made available to you upon request.
