The Month of March Principal Talk
The year 2013 was a pivotal year for Three Way ISD. The start of morning assembly began.
I was a first year teacher and was introduced to the concept of community and togetherness established every morning with the students and staff. Thus, my educational philosophy quickly developed that connection was vital for students to thrive and families to trust. Now, in the year 2026 we continue to honor the legacy of such an important tradition. We begin our days with greetings to our students and with not just one familiar face, but many who smile, wave, and love on students before they begin their day. We set the foundation of Three Way ISD each day with positivity and support. If a student has a need, it is met before we begin the school day.
We do allow our secondary students a class period to wake up before we begin announcements, but even turning in cell phones, a process that does not sound very fun to enforce, allows us to connect with children and ensure they have a face that they recognize and feel comfortable before the day begins.
It is our overall district temperature check and I am thankful that through the changes, the core value of connection is valued in this one honored action. Thank you for being part of the success of how we connect with students, whether you are a parent, a staff member or a student.
